Alejandro Díaz

Practice Areas: Alejandro has concentrated in intellectual property litigation and criminal cases involving falsification issues. This litigation has included trademark infringements, unfair competition, trademark invalidation claims, border measures procedures, administrative appeals and extraordinary constitutional appeals. Specialist in information technology law matters and technology standardization processes.

Professional Memberships: Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.

Carreer: He began working in the IP field in 2003 with different law firms in Mexico. In 2006 he joined AM&L as a law clerk and in 2008 he became an attorney at law of the firm. He has given anti-counterfeit training courses related to the identification of counterfeit goods to the customs authorities and to staff of the General Attorney’s Office. In 2012, he was a researcher in IP matters at the Osaka Institute of Technology, Japan. Since then and to date he has been responsible for the promotion of AM&L for that country.  

Academic: Awarded with a fellowship by the Japanese Government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to participate in the IP training program at the Osaka Institute of Technology. LL.M. in Information Technology by the University of Stockholm (2011) with the thesis “Adoption of the Internet Service Provider’s Liability Regulations and the Notice and Takedown Procedure, into the Mexican Legal Framework”. LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law by the University of Stockholm –currently writing the thesis- (2012). Postgraduate Program in Extraordinary Constitutional Appeals -Juicio de Amparo- (2010). Graduated with honors from the Universidad Panamericana. Law Degree from the Universidad Panamericana (2006).
