Career: Juan Rodrigo Pimentel has seven years of experience in intellectual property applying his technical expertise in the patent area. His experience is focused on the prosecution of patents including searches in the state of the art, technical and legal opinions regarding patentability and non-invasion of third party rights, patent drafting, patent filing and registration, filing PCT applications, foreign patent prosecution, answering official actions and coordination of the maintenance fees payments. He is familiar with the technical issues in the litigation of patents, industrial designs, and three-dimensional designs. He consults clients on patent project management, product development, patent portfolio management, technology transfer, and patent metrics. He joined AM&L in 2004.

Academic: Mr. Pimentel graduated with honors from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2003). He won the Borrego de Oro, an award given to the department’s best student. He holds a Specialization in Intellectual Property Law and is finishing his Master’s degree in Engineering from the Universidad Panamericana. He is also a technology transfer graduate from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
